| Emeralds Sneak Past Pelicans, 2-1 | The Eugene Emeralds took St. Petersburg pitcher Manny Lima's best shot and still were able to claim a win at Prefontaine Park. The final score had Eugene getting past the Pelicans, 2-1. Lima went 7.1 innings and allowed no earned runs, striking out 7. Eugene reliever Josh Jackson picked up the win, upping his record to 2-0. Marlon Douglas was saddled with the loss. The Pelicans, now 8-11, continue their sluggish start.
Greg McFadden had the critical at-bat for Eugene. With two out in the bottom of the ninth inning, he hit a walk-off run-scoring single. It gave Eugene the 2-1 walk-off win.
McFadden told a Eugene Citizen reporter that he was "satisfied" with the win.
