| Warriors Bang Out 6-3 Win Versus Coney Island | The Winfield Warriors topped the Coney Island Cyclones, 6-3, in Lyman Bostock League action at Coney Island Coliseum. The player of the game was Winfield pitcher Danny Lopes. Lopes, now 2-1, was the winner. In 8 innings, he gave up 8 hits, while striking out 7, walking 2, and allowing 3 earned runs. Earning his 6th save for Winfield was Brian Claphan.
Dave Lodolce aided the Winfield cause with a 2-run single in the top of the seventh. For the game, the designated hitter went 1-3 with a walk. He drove in 2 runs.
"We'll relax tonight and get back after it tomorrow," Lopes said after the game.
