| Big Day by Driggs Ignites Armada Win | The 2038 season is getting ugly for Rubber City.
The Quebec Armada powered past the Rubber City Rhinos, 8-5, at The Rubber Grounds. Brent Driggs was 3-4 with 3 doubles and a walk. He scored 3 runs and drove in 2, to lead the charge. Xavier Maya, credited with the win, is now 3-3. He allowed 5 runs on 8 hits in 8 innings. Picking up the save was José López, his 2nd.
Driggs had a game-changing double in the top of the eighth. On a full count fastball from Carlos Alonzo, he banged a 2-run double to right-center, giving the Armada a 7-5 lead. It was the 16th double of the year for Driggs.
"Enjoyed this one," Driggs told the Quebec Daily News. "But it's back to work tomorrow."
The 5th-place Armada raised their record to 22-29.
