| Victory Pushes Kings Record to 8-5 | With shortstop David Fernandez leading the charge, the Atlantic City Kings defeated the Cambridge Orphans, 10-1, at Abbey Stadium. Fernandez, who is tied for 4th in the DML in stolen bases with 7, went 3 for 6 with 3 singles. He scored 3 times and drove in 2. Arend Bakker earned the win for Atlantic City. He lasted 6 innings, allowing 1 earned run on 7 hits, while striking out 6. With the win, he raised his record to 1-0. Getting the save was Dani Sánchez, his 1st.
Lance Phillips went 1-2 with a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once for Atlantic City. The 25-year old second baseman had a key at-bat in the top of the seventh. With one out and runners on 2nd and 3rd, he broke a 1-1 tie with a run-scoring sacrifice fly off Matt Gordon. It was his 5th RBI of the season.
"We'll relax tonight and enjoy this win," said Phillips.
Cambridge, at 4-10, is off to a poor start in 2038.
