| Black Squirrels Prevail, 3-1, Over Bethesda | Tree City and Bethesda played a hard-fought contest at Hornets Field.
The Tree City Black Squirrels topped the Bethesda Hornets, 3-1, in Donnie Moore League action at Hornets Field. The player of the game was Tree City pitcher and San Juan, Puerto Rico native Jesus Ambriz. The Hornets fall to 5-8 and continue their uninspiring start to the 2038 season.
The Black Squirrels got a big at-bat from first baseman Jose Curione. For the game, Curione went 1-3 with a walk and was hit by a pitch. In the top of the fifth, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a run-scoring single. His 12th hit of the season gave Tree City a 2-1 lead.
"We take it day by day here," said Ambriz, "and today was a good one for us."
