| Gnats Lose, 7-6, at Heartland Kettlecorn Stadium | The San Angelo Mustangs topped the Nichols Gnats, 7-6, in Lyman Bostock League action at Heartland Kettlecorn Stadium. The player of the game was San Angelo pitcher Manny Anchondo. Anchondo, now 1-2, was the winner. In 7 innings, he gave up 6 hits, while striking out 6, walking 2, and allowing 2 earned runs. Losses have been few and far between for the Gnats, who are now 7-3.
Had John Williams not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and the bases loaded, Williams hit a 2-run single. That made the score 4-2, in favor of the Mustangs.
"Win or lose, we pick each other up in this clubhouse," Anchondo told the San Angelo Citizen.
