| River Chiefs Lose, 4-3, at Stable Park | The Kingwood Knights topped the Chippewa River Chiefs, 4-3, in Lyman Bostock League action at Stable Park. The player of the game was Kingwood designated hitter Ben Mills. The win was credited to Mikiya Kubo in relief. His record improves to 1-0. Lorenzo Chavez took the loss. Zak Osborn got the save, the 2nd for him this season.
Antonio Torres aided the Kingwood cause with a run-scoring single in the bottom of the first. For the game, the third baseman was 3-4 with 3 singles.
"You get some opportunities, you better take advantage of them," said Chippewa manager Eric Rice.
Losses have been few and far between for the River Chiefs so far this season. Their record drops to 7-3.
