Sting Get Win, Hope to Turn Around Slow Start

The Houston Sting defeated the Eugene Emeralds, 8-2, at Woodland Park today. Leading the charge for Houston was first baseman Camren Bontrager. He was 3 for 5 with 3 singles, while scoring 2 times. Houston reliever Blake Victoria got the win, raising his record to 1-2. Francisco Bibian was tagged with the loss. The Emeralds, now 3-7, have been pitiful so far.

The Sting had to work out of trouble in the top of the ninth. The score was 8-2, Houston, with one out. Eugene, with the bases loaded, was mounting a threat. Jared Carpenter dug in at the plate, but on a 2-2 cutter, he struck out.
