| Cyclones Raise Rally Flag, Beat Charleston, 4-3 | The Coney Island Cyclones defeated the Charleston Panthers, 4-3, at Franklin Mountains Field today. Leading the charge for Coney Island was catcher Hedde Boland. He went 3 for 4 with a home run and a double. He scored 2 runs. With their winning streak at 4, the Cyclones have raced to a strong start this season.
Had Victor Trinidad not delivered a key base hit in the top of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 1st and 3rd, Trinidad hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 4-3, in favor of the Cyclones.
"I felt good up there," said Boland. "I saw the ball well."
