| Knights Get Road Win, 5-1 | Kingwood Knights starter Derrick Brown turned in a top-notch performance against the Charleston Panthers at Franklin Mountains Field. The result was a win for the Knights, 5-1. In 5 innings, Brown surrendered 2 hits, while striking out 8 and walking 0. He allowed 1 run. Every game is important, even these early ones, if the Knights hope to make a postseason run.
The Knights got a big at-bat from third baseman Antonio Torres. For the game, Torres went 1-3 with a double and a walk. He drove in 3 runs. In the top of the sixth, with the bases loaded, he stroked a bases-clearing double. His 1st double of the season gave Kingwood a 4-1 lead.
