| Extra-Inning Win by Cyclones over Knights | The Coney Island Cyclones defeated the Kingwood Knights, 3-2, at Stable Park. Coney Island right fielder Matt Hamm was named player of the game for his superb performance. He was 4-5 with 2 doubles and 2 singles, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. Coney Island reliever Bob Downard picked up the win, upping his record to 1-0. Zak Osborn was saddled with the loss. Stephen Schuller earned the save, his 2nd.
Hamm had a game-changing single in the top of the tenth. On a 2-2 fastball from Zak Osborn, he banged a run-scoring single to right, giving the Cyclones a 2-1 lead. It was the 6th hit of the year for Hamm.
"It's a long season," said Hamm. "We'll keep working to improve."
The Cyclones have stumbled out of the gate, getting only their 2nd win in 6 games.
