| Bush Wackers Lose, 9-5, at Abbey Stadium | It was a fun time at Abbey Stadium, where the Brisbane Bush Wackers and Cambridge Orphans tangled.
The Cambridge Orphans powered past the Brisbane Bush Wackers, 9-5, at Abbey Stadium. Jake Everett hit 2 home runs, while adding 3 RBI and scoring twice, to lead the charge. Cambridge reliever Marc McDougald picked up the win, upping his record to 1-0. Gabriel Fajardo shouldered the loss.
The Orphans got a big at-bat from first baseman Igor Shunin. For the game, Shunin went 3-5 with a double and 2 singles. He drove in 4 runs. In the bottom of the sixth, with the bases loaded, he stroked a 2-run single. His 8th hit of the season gave Cambridge a 6-4 lead.
"We maximized our offense today," said Cambridge skipper Fernando Padilla. "That makes everyone's life easier."
The win lifts Cambridge to a record of 2-2.
