It might have been a rain-shorted game, but the hometown crowd didn't seem to mind.

The Chippewa River Chiefs grabbed a 6-3 win over the Charleston Panthers at The Reservation. Chippewa third baseman Garry Adams was 2-2 with a home run and was hit by a pitch. He scored 3 runs to earn player of the game honors. Eric O'Sullivan nailed down his 1st save.

Andres Talavera aided the Chippewa cause with a 2-run triple in the bottom of the fourth. For the game, the shortstop was 1 for 3 with a triple, while adding 2 RBI.

"We took advantage of our opportunities," Adams told the Chippewa Citizen. "It's as simple as that."

The River Chiefs keep rolling, raising their record to 2-0.
