| Beavers Stymie Eureka, Take 6-1 Win | The Portland Beavers topped the Eureka Hornets, 6-1, in Roberto Clemente League action at Waterfront Park. The player of the game was Portland pitcher and San José, Costa Rica native Elias Ortiz. Ortiz went 8 innings to notch the win. He scattered 7 hits, walked 1, and struck out 6. His record improves to 7-2. The Beavers bumped their record to 31-18 with this latest triumph.
Sean Clark hit a run-scoring double off Juan Mendoza in the bottom of the fourth, which put the Beavers in front, 2-1. In addition to the double, Clark had 1 single, while going 2 for 4.
