| Pelicans Get Road Win, 4-3 | St. Petersburg beat Cambridge at Abbey Stadium, eking out a 4-3 win. The win was due in large part to pitcher Mario Pagan, who earned player of the game honors. Marlon Douglas nailed down his 1st save. St. Petersburg has a record of 1-1.
The Pelicans got a big at-bat from first baseman Octavio Barreto. For the game, Barreto went 3-4 with a double and 2 singles, while adding 2 RBI. In the top of the fourth, with a runner on 1st, he stroked a run-scoring double. His 1st double of the season gave St. Petersburg a 1-0 lead.
After the game, St. Petersburg manager Dennis Inman applauded the team's effort. "They busted their tails out there," he said.
