| Spartans Edge Black Bears, 8-7 | Fraser Valley got a terrific game from first baseman Alex Esparza. It wasn't enough, though, to prevent the team from falling to Sandy Springs, 8-7. Esparza was the player of the game despite being on the losing side. He was 3 for 5 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. Kyung-hwan Ho got credit for the win, improving to 4-3. He allowed no runs on no hits in 0.1 innings. The 'W' lifts Sandy Springs's record to 71-91.
The clutch at-bat came in the bottom of the tenth inning, when Sandy Springs center fielder Bill Corkum, facing Wei-sng Mak, had a run-scoring walk. It gave the Spartans the 8-7 win.
"It's a satisfying feeling, to win like we did," said Corkum.
