| Hellcats Win in Extras | Frisco third baseman Armando Flores was sensational. He went 1 for 2 with 3 walks, but it wasn't enough to rally his team to a win. Jacksonville beat the Rams, 3-2. Flores was named the player of the game despite the loss. The winner was Jacksonville reliever J.P. Frazier, now 2-0. The loser was Colin Paradis. Benjamin Ladds earned his 1st save in 3 chances.
The game was at a stalemate until right fielder Alex Armijo came to bat in the top of the 17th. Facing Frisco pitcher Dave Rodgers, he hit a 3-1 fastball for a run-scoring single. It was a game-changer, putting Jacksonville on top, 3-2.
In comments to the Jacksonville Chronicle, Armijo admitted he's been told to improve his work habits. "But," he said, "I know when to take it to another gear."
The Hellcats now have a mark of 70-90.
