| Beetlecats Beat Vesuvius in 10 | The Buzzard's Bay Beetlecats picked up a win at Conduit Caverns, knocking off the Cape Verde Vesuvius, 5-4. Starting pitcher Andy Salas, who captured player of the game honors, was a big reason why. Pedro Morales, credited with the win, is now 3-2. He allowed no runs on no hits in 1.2 innings. The Beetlecats improve their record to 86-74 with the win over Cape Verde.
The Beetlecats got a big at-bat from pinch hitter Teruo Ono. For the game, Ono went 1-1. In the top of the tenth, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a run-scoring single. His 33rd hit of the season gave Buzzard's Bay a 5-4 lead.
"We found a way to get it done," Salas said.
