| Rats Score Late to Upend Ducks, 5-4 | Rock River withstood an impressive performance by Long Island first baseman Jose Lopez to defeat the Ducks, 5-4, at Long Island Stadium. Lopez went 2-3 with a home run, a double, and a walk, while scoring 2 times and driving in 2. Bryan Jackowitz converted his 8th save in 10 tries. The third-place Rats now have a 5-game winning streak.
Rock River used the bat of Gilberto Perez to get the win. The center fielder hammered a 2-run home run in the top of the ninth inning to put the Rats ahead, 5-4. It was his lone hit in 5 at-bats, but it did its damage.
"It was a good effort all around," said Perez.
