Storm Troopers Fall Short, 8-7, at Madison

Madison beat San Antonio at The Hive, escaping with a 8-7 win. The win in large part was due to designated hitter Gouki Maeda, who earned player of the game honors. He was 3-5 with a home run and a double. He scored 4 runs. Madison reliever Takayuki Tominaga was the winner. His record is now 7-8. Tim Carson took the loss. Kris Richardson converted his 30th save in 36 tries.

Danny Cancino hit a 2-run triple off Tim Carson in the bottom of the sixth, which put the Beehive in front, 4-3. Cancino had 1 walk, in addition to the triple. For the game, he went 1 for 3.

"It wasn't a pretty victory," said Maeda, "but we got it done."

Madison is now riding a 3-game win streak.
