| Falakiko Lifts Vesuvius to 8-4 Triumph | The Cape Verde Vesuvius stopped the Marysville Monarchs, 8-4, at Mitts Fieldhouse. The Vesuvius got a big game from A'fah Falakiko, who went 2 for 3 with a home run and a walk, while scoring 2 times and driving in 5. Luis Herrera notched his 19th save in 23 chances. The Vesuvius bumped their record to 84-75 with this latest triumph.
Cape Verde grabbed the momentum in the top of the fifth, when Falakiko, who is tied for 4th in the RAA in hits with 175, hit a grand slam home run. His 14th home run of the season put the Vesuvius out in front, 7-3.
"Winning the game is always the first objective," Falakiko said.
