Alvarez went 6 innings and allowed 2 earned runs. Kouichi Hayashi notched his 5th save in 10 chances. The Cornhuskers move to 75-78 with the win, while the Ducks drop to 73-80.
Cheong-u Pak's at-bat in the bottom of the seventh inning was a big one for DeKalb. Coming to bat with one out, a runner on 3rd and DeKalb trailing 3-2, the second baseman reached on an error by the 1B, driving in 1 run.
"I just try to see the ball and put a good swing on it," said Pak.
