| Big Day by del Toro Ignites Hackers Win | Benefiting from an exceptional performance from Michael del Toro, the Silicon Valley Hackers defeated the Boise Hawks, 8-3. del Toro went 3 for 4 with a home run and 2 doubles. He drove in 4 runs and scored once for the Hackers. The win was credited to Naotake Nakamura in relief. His record improves to 7-1. Carlos Ortiz took the loss. The Hackers bumped their record to 76-74 with this latest triumph.
In the top of the seventh, Vinny Saucedo stood in the box, looking for a pitch to hammer. The Hawks were trailing 8-3, but had the bases loaded. That's when Enrique Santiago made a terrific pitch and Saucedo grounded out. Gone was the dream of a Boise comeback.
