| Bulldogs Lose, 5-2, at The Stetson Bowl | The Fraser Valley Black Bears downed the Spokane Bulldogs, 5-2, at The Stetson Bowl. The Black Bears were led by Jorge Sandoval, who captured player of the game honors. He was 1 for 3 with a home run and a walk, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once. Fraser Valley reliever Jamie Stanhope picked up the win, upping his record to 4-2. Eric Clark absorbed the loss. Fraser Valley improves to 86-61 with the win. They lead their division by 14½ games.
Sandoval contributed a big hit, a grand slam home run, for Fraser Valley in the bottom of the fifth. With his team trailing 2-1, Sandoval took a cutter from Eric Clark and stroked the home run to left-center. His 17th home run of the season allowed the Black Bears to leap in front, 5-2.
"I thought we played a nice game," Sandoval told the Fraser Valley Citizen. "Good pitching, timely hitting, it was all there."
