| Rockhounds Slip Past Rubber City, 5-4 | The Midland Rockhounds defeated the Rubber City Rhinos, 5-4, at Field of Dreams. Midland designated hitter Bob Scott was named player of the game for his superb performance. He slugged 2 home runs. He drove in 3 runs and scored twice. Midland reliever Justin Bolling picked up the win to move to 1-1. Aidan Carrick suffered the loss. Midland is now 18-27.
Scott had a game-changing home run in the bottom of the 12th. On a first pitch fastball from Aidan Carrick, he banged a solo home run to right-center, giving the Rockhounds a 5-4 lead. It was the 5th home run of the year for Scott.
"I still have a lot of confidence in this team," Midland manager Anastasio Ojeda said afterward.
