A 4-RBI performance from left fielder Ric Witkoski, who is tied for 4th in the RAA in triples with 6, led the Cape Verde Vesuvius to a 7-5 win over the Fraser Valley Black Bears. Cape Verde reliever Luis Herrera picked up the win to move to 2-2. Ricardo Betancourt suffered the loss. The Vesuvius bumped their record to 76-67 with this latest triumph.

Witkoski had a game-changing home run in the bottom of the ninth. On a 1-1 cutter from Ricardo Betancourt, he banged a 2-run home run to right, giving the Vesuvius a 7-5 lead. It was the 22nd home run of the year for Witkoski.

Witkoski told a Cape Verde Times reporter that he was "satisfied" with the win.
