| Tight Tilt Goes to Black Bears, 4-3 | Cape Verde second baseman Juan Estevez had a terrific game, but it still wasn't enough to get his team a win. Estevez was 4-4 with 4 singles. He drove in 2 runs, even as Fraser Valley beat the Vesuvius, 4-3. Estevez was named the player of the game despite the loss. Fraser Valley reliever Jamie Stanhope picked up the win, upping his record to 3-2. Danny Morales absorbed the loss. Fraser Valley is now riding a 7-game win streak.
The Black Bears got a big at-bat from right fielder Jorge Sandoval. For the game, Sandoval went 1 for 5. In the top of the second, with the bases loaded, he stroked a run-scoring single. His 136th hit of the season gave Fraser Valley a 4-3 lead.
"I'm just happy to help the team win," Sandoval told the Fraser Valley Citizen.
