| Snaps Clip Red Bulls in Tight Contest | Riverside got a terrific performance from pitcher Chotaro Matsuno, but it wasn't enough to beat the Cincinnati Snaps. Cincinnati won the Red Bull Stadium contest, 4-2. Matsuno was the player of the game despite being on the losing side. He threw 6 innings allowing 1 run. Antonio Pena earned the win for Cincinnati. He lasted 7 innings, allowing 2 earned runs on 9 hits, while striking out 5. With the win, he raised his record to 2-4. Ismael Mejia earned his 7th save in 11 chances.
Manuel Santiago had a clutch at-bat with one out in the top of the eighth for the Snaps. Coming up with runners on 1st and 2nd and Cincinnati trailing 2-1, he hit a 3-run home run.
"Say want you want about this team, they play nine innings hard," said Cincinnati manager Rob Penn.
At 71-72, Cincinnati is in 4th place in the TMLAA Jim Leyland Division.
