Hackers Score Late to Upend Bulldogs, 3-2

Both teams had their opportunities, but in the end, the Silicon Valley Hackers got the win.

The Silicon Valley Hackers beat the Spokane Bulldogs, 3-2, at The Kennel. Silicon Valley second baseman Robby Gomez earned player of the game honors with an outstanding performance. He went 3-3 with 3 singles and a walk. He drove in 2 runs. With the win over Spokane, the Hackers improved to 72-70.

In a game filled with surprises, perhaps none was as big as Gomez's contribution. The Silicon Valley second baseman is a relative newcomer. With two out in the top of the eighth, when the Hackers had the bases loaded, Gomez delivered a crucial 2-run single.

"I'm just happy to help the team win," Gomez told the Silicon Valley Today.
