| Beehive Score Late to Upend Robins, 8-6 | The Madison Beehive topped the Bristol Robins by the score of 8-6, with the biggest share of the credit going to first baseman Gene Rush. Rush was 3 for 4 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk. He drove in 2 runs and scored once for the Beehive on the day. Kris Richardson, credited with the save, is now 22 for 28 in save opportunities. Madison's record now stands at 64-74, placing them 5th in the TMLAA Jim Leyland Division.
Had Chris Suddath not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 2nd and 3rd, Suddath hit a 2-run single. That made the score 8-6, in favor of the Beehive.
"It was a solid team effort and we'll try to keep this momentum going," Rush told reporters after the game.
