The Rock River Rats picked up a win at The Rat Hole, knocking off the Cape Verde Vesuvius, 6-1. Starting pitcher Marvin Duffy was an essential part of his team's success. The Rats now have a mark of 68-71.

Dave Caston went 1-4 for Rock River. The 26-year old left fielder had a key at-bat in the bottom of the fourth. With no one out and the bases loaded, he broke a 0-0 tie with a run-scoring ground out off Francisco Morales. It was his 55th RBI of the season.

"It was a solid team effort and we'll try to keep this momentum going," Duffy told reporters after the game.
