| Wolter Sensational, 5-for-5 | It seemed that Fraser Valley third baseman Mark Wolter could do no wrong as the Black Bears KO'd the Monarchs, 8-7 today. Wolter rapped out 5 hits in 5 at-bats and seemed to know which pitches Monarchs hurlers were throwing.
"I think the Black Bears were stealing signs," growled one unhappy Marysville fan after the game.
"I just felt good today. I saw the ball well and just wanted to make good contact and put the ball in play," said the jubilant Wolter in the postgame press interview.
Mark Wolter hit an RBI single in the 1st, walked in the 3rd, hit a two-run home run off Manny Lima in the 5th, singled in the 7th, doubled in the 9th and hit an RBI single in the 11th.
So far this season Wolter has put up a .301 batting average with 119 hits, 12 home runs and 65 RBIs. |
