| Mustang Roll Ducks, 4-3 | Carson City pitcher Tino Gonzalez did his part in helping his team beat the Long Island Ducks, 4-3. The right-hander kept opposing batters in check throughout the game. Gonzalez, now 11-7, was the winner. In 7 innings, he gave up 6 hits, while striking out 5, walking 4, and allowing 3 earned runs. Hyun-sik Park was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 35 of 38 save opportunities.
The Mustang beat the Ducks with some clutch hitting. The home run by David Mena in the top of the first is a good example. With two down, Mena gave his team the lead, 2-0, when he came through with the big hit.
"Honestly, I'm not frustrated," said Long Island manager John Cook. "The effort was great."
The Mustang, at 80-57, have now won 4 straight.
