| Bulldogs Lose, 8-7, at Howling Park | Spokane shortstop Danny Ramos had a terrific game, but it still wasn't enough to get his team a win. Ramos went 2 for 3 with a double and 2 walks. He scored 3 times, even as Wichita beat the Bulldogs, 8-7. Ramos was named the player of the game despite the loss. Joel Stapleton got the save, his 40th in 46 chances. Spokane's current losing streak has reached 4 games.
Had Ossie Zurita not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and the bases loaded, Zurita hit a 2-run double. That made the score 8-7, in favor of the Wolverines.
"Our guys are never satisfied," said Wichita manager Chris Carpenter.
