| Monarchs Stymie Madison, Take 5-1 Win | Marysville turned a good effort from starter Roger Katz into a win over the Madison Beehive at Mitts Fieldhouse. The final score was 5-1. Katz went 6 innings to notch the win. He scattered 5 hits, walked 3, and struck out 4. His record improves to 3-2. Juan Ayala converted his 19th save in 20 tries.
The Monarchs got a big at-bat from left fielder Shoshi Kimura. For the game, Kimura was 1 for 4 with a home run. In the bottom of the fourth, with the bases empty, he stroked a solo home run. His 1st home run of the season gave Marysville a 2-1 lead.
"I thought we played a nice game," Katz told the Marysville Observer. "Good pitching, timely hitting, it was all there."
Marysville leads the RCLAA Gene Mauch Division by 14 games.
