| Wolverines Lose, 10-9, at Joey Naples Memorial Colloseum | The Youngstown Tune-Ups outlasted Bill Hopgood and the Wichita Wolverines, 10-9. Hopgood was impressive in the loss. The Wichita left fielder went 3 for 5 with a home run and 2 singles, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 3. Youngstown reliever Tsuginori Oda was the winner. His record is now 2-2. Tony Maldonado took the loss. Youngstown is 61-70 and Wichita, with the loss, 76-58.
The Tune-Ups got a big at-bat from shortstop Li-cong Ju. For the game, Ju was 2-4 with a double, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. In the bottom of the first, with the bases loaded, he stroked a 2-run single. His 98th hit of the season gave Youngstown a 3-1 lead.
"We'll grab a cold one tonight and go after another win tomorrow," Ju said.
