Rockhounds Turn Back Rubber City, 6-4

The Midland Rockhounds bested the Rubber City Rhinos by a score of 6-4, with catcher Waylon Swerdlow getting the main credit. On the day, Swerdlow was 2 for 3 with a home run, a triple, and a walk. He drove in 2 runs and scored once for the Rockhounds. Austin Price finished to wrap up his 2nd save. The win boosts the Rockhounds to 17-27. The loss puts the Rhinos at 11-34.

Swerdlow contributed a big hit, a 2-run home run, for Midland in the bottom of the first. With his team trailing 1-0, Swerdlow took a slider from Goro Ota and stroked the home run to right. His 9th home run of the season allowed the Rockhounds to leap in front, 2-1.

"We put a lot of pressure on ourselves," Swerdlow told a Midland Bulletin reporter. "Sometimes we need just to relax."
