| Ferdig Goes Off, But Mustangs Win | Mile High played host to So Cal at the friendly confines of McNichols Stadium.
So Cal got a terrific performance from center fielder Jarred Ferdig, but it wasn't enough to beat the Mile High Mustangs. Mile High won the McNichols Stadium contest, 6-3. Ferdig was the player of the game despite being on the losing side. He was 4-4 with 2 home runs and 2 singles, while scoring 3 runs and driving in 2. Jose Montalvo was the winning pitcher. Over 8 innings, he allowed 2 runs on 6 hits, with 2 walks and 5 strikeouts.
The Mustangs got a big at-bat from first baseman Ruben Estrada. For the game, Estrada went 2-4 with a home run and a triple. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2. In the bottom of the first, with a runner on 2nd, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 3rd home run of the season gave Mile High a 2-0 lead.
"We put a lot of pressure on ourselves," Estrada told a Mile High Today reporter. "Sometimes we need just to relax."
With the victory, the Mustangs record now stands at 20-28.
