| Cornhuskers Stun Beetlecats, 6-3 | DeKalb played host to Buzzard's Bay at the friendly confines of The Corn Crib.
The Cornhuskers had to overcome a good performance from Buzzard's Bay pitcher Alex Figueroa to claim a 6-3 win at The Corn Crib. Figueroa went 5.2 innings and allowed 2 earned runs. The Cornhuskers bumped their record to 68-61 with this latest triumph.
The Cornhuskers got a big at-bat from shortstop Sean Mizuno. For the game, Mizuno went 1-4. In the bottom of the eighth, with runners on 1st and 3rd, he stroked a run-scoring single. His 34th hit of the season gave DeKalb a 4-3 lead.
"We'll pop the top on a cold one and get back to work tomorrow," Mizuno said.
