| Black Bears Score Late, Stun Spartans, 5-4 | The Fraser Valley Black Bears grabbed a 5-4 win over the Sandy Springs Spartans at The Stetson Bowl. Fraser Valley right fielder Jorge Sandoval was 2-3 with 2 singles and 2 walks to earn player of the game honors. Fraser Valley reliever Jamie Stanhope was the winner. His record is now 1-2. Zane Gunter took the loss. Fraser Valley is now 72-53, 6 games up in the TMLAA Bruce Bochy Division.
Sandoval had a game-changing single in the bottom of the eighth. On a 3-1 fastball from Kyung-hwan Ho, he banged a run-scoring single to center, giving the Black Bears a 5-4 lead. It was the 122nd hit of the year for Sandoval.
"I just try to see the ball and put a good swing on it," said Sandoval.
