| Vesuvius Get Past Buzzard's Bay for 2-1 Win | The Cape Verde Vesuvius topped the Buzzard's Bay Beetlecats, 2-1, in RCLAA action at Bloomfield Road. The player of the game was Cape Verde left fielder Ric Witkoski. The Vesuvius bumped their record to 67-58 with this latest triumph.
Witkoski had a game-changing home run in the top of the eighth. On a 2-0 fastball from Tessfalfe Mwinyimadi, he banged a 2-run home run to left, giving the Vesuvius a 2-1 lead. It was the 18th home run of the year for Witkoski.
"I just try to see the ball and put a good swing on it," said Witkoski.
