| Spartans Need Extra Frames to Get Past Black Bears | Sandy Springs Spartans starter Kyle Hoage was in fine form against the Fraser Valley Black Bears at The Stetson Bowl, leading his team to a 5-3 win. Sandy Springs, at 56-68, occupies last place in the TMLAA Bruce Bochy Division.
The Spartans got a big at-bat from right fielder Eddie Lannigan. For the game, Lannigan went 1-4 with a home run and 2 walks, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. In the top of the 12th, with a runner on 1st, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 10th home run of the season gave Sandy Springs a 5-3 lead.
Lannigan told a Sandy Springs Chronicle reporter that he was "more than satisfied" with the win.
