Ducks Get Close Win Over Rats

The Rock River Rats got a sterling performance from pitcher Juan Lara, but the Ducks still prevailed, 2-1. Lara was named the player of the game in a losing cause. He threw 7 innings of 5-hit ball. Long Island is now riding a 3-game win streak.

Louie Lockyer made it 2-1 in favor of Long Island when he delivered a run-scoring single. It came with two out in the top of the ninth. The Ducks went on to win.

"We were in it," said Rock River manager Will Hunt. "We just didn't score enough runs."
