| Beetlecats Prevail, 4-2, Over Cape Verde | The Buzzard's Bay Beetlecats got a strong performance from pitcher Ricky Lerma, who stymied the Cape Verde offense en route to a 4-2 win at Bloomfield Road. Buzzard's Bay reliever Paul Handley picked up the win, upping his record to 1-2. T.J. Sparks took the loss. At 62-59, the Beetlecats find themselves in 5th place in the RCLAA Gene Mauch Division.
Octavio Borges, who is tied for 8th in the RAA in stolen bases with 27, helped out the Buzzard's Bay cause in the bottom of the sixth inning with a run-scoring sacrifice fly. For the game, the second baseman drove in one run.
"I thought we played a nice game," Lerma told the Buzzard's Bay Today. "Good pitching, timely hitting, it was all there."
