| Beehive Turn Back Cincinnati, 9-7 | Cincinnati got a terrific game from shortstop Adam Smiley. It wasn't enough, though, to prevent the team from falling to Madison, 9-7. Smiley was the player of the game despite being on the losing side. He went 3 for 4 with a home run and a double. He scored 2 times and drove in 2. Howard Radley earned his 1st save in 1 chances. The 5th-place Beehive have won 4 consecutive games.
A defensive lapse proved costly in the contest. In the bottom of the sixth, with Madison trailing 7-6, Ben Chadburn was at the plate when Madison scored 2 on an error. The miscue enabled the Beehive to go in front, 8-7.
"We'll pop the top on a cold one and get back to work tomorrow," Chadburn said.
