| Rams Lose Again, 9-5, to Hawks | Behind a solid performance from left fielder Roger Alba, the Boise Hawks defeated the Frisco Rams, 9-5. Alba was 2 for 4 with 2 home runs and a walk for the Hawks. Timmo Brown got the win, improving to 6-7. He pitched 5 innings, giving up 4 hits and 2 runs, while striking out 1 and walking 3. Josh Jackson converted his 1st save in 3 tries.
The Hawks got a big at-bat from designated hitter Jon Ybarra. For the game, Ybarra went 1 for 3 with a home run and 2 walks, while scoring 2 times and driving in 2. In the top of the first, with a runner on 2nd, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 2nd home run of the season gave Boise a 2-0 lead.
"I don't feel you win baseball games by working harder than the other team or 'wanting it more,'" Ybarra told the Boise Herald. "You win just by scoring more runs."
Frisco now has a 7-game losing streak.
