| Beehive Get Close Win Over Wolverines | Eli Bryant had a good game, but he could not keep the Wichita Wolverines from falling, 8-4, to the Madison Beehive at Howling Park. The Wichita right fielder went 4 for 4 with a home run, 3 singles, and a walk. He scored 2 times in the loss. Madison reliever Takayuki Tominaga was credited with the win, to go to 5-7. Ken Morita took the loss for Wichita. The Beehive improved to 52-65.
Jim Jennings aided the Madison cause with a run-scoring walk in the top of the eighth. For the game, the left fielder drew 4 walks.
