| Late Rally by Hackers Secures Win | The Silicon Valley Hackers defeated the Boise Hawks, 2-1, at Basque Block Field today. Leading the charge for Silicon Valley was left fielder Tetsuya Toyoda. He was 2 for 4 with a home run. Enrique Santiago got credit for the win, improving to 11-5. He allowed no runs on 1 hit in 2.2 innings. Silicon Valley has now won 3 in a row.
Had Mario Nateras not delivered a key base hit in the top of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and a runner on 1st, Nateras hit a run-scoring double. That made the score 2-1, in favor of the Hackers.
"If we play like this, we can win a lot of games," Nateras told the Silicon Valley Today.
