Rats Lose, 7-2, at The Corn Crib

The DeKalb Cornhuskers defeated the Rock River Rats, 7-2, at The Corn Crib today. Leading the charge for DeKalb was right fielder Mat Martin. He was 2 for 4 with a double. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. Carl Kurucz got credit for the win, improving to 2-2. He allowed no runs on 3 hits in 1.1 innings. Nick Clouse notched his 1st save in 1 chances.

Martin had a key at-bat for DeKalb early in the game. With the bases loaded, he hit a 2-run double. It was his 13th double of the season and gave DeKalb an early 2-0 lead.

"If we play like this, we can win a lot of games," Martin told the DeKalb Herald.
