| Victory Pushes Cornhuskers Record to 60-56 | DeKalb played host to Long Island at the friendly confines of The Corn Crib.
A 4-RBI performance from the 26-year old center fielder David Acosta helped the DeKalb Cornhuskers beat the Long Island Ducks, 8-4. DeKalb reliever Tom Pick picked up the win to move to 2-1. Juan Munoz suffered the loss.
DeKalb took a 5-4 lead on Augusto Cavazos's 31st hit of the season. The run-scoring single, which Cavazos hit in the bottom of the seventh, left Long Island pitcher Juan Munoz shaking his head.
"Baseball is about momentum," said Cavazos, "and we feel we've got it in our favor after that win."
DeKalb is now riding a 3-game win streak.
